Default Bold 9780 wifi issues

Please Login to Remove!

I have just got a Bold 9780 which I can't connect to my home wifi network even though it can see it. All my other wireless devices (iphone and 2 netbooks) can connect fine. My router is a zoom adsl and I was wondering if this is not compatible with Blackberries? The error I keep getting is 'Failed to connect to the network'. I have also tried to set a static ip address on the phone to no avail.

Any ideas?

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan or add-on on your account.
You have to have one in order for the WiFi to work properly.

Right. If you want the WiFi to work, you will need to ring them up and get the correct BlackBerry plan added.

Thanks for the reply but I am a bit lost here. I can receive emails, use the App world, browse the web etc with the vodaphone data plan so why then do I need a blackberry data plan to use wifi?

Update:

I can now get on to the home network (sometimes) and then the signal drops a couple of minutes later. I am beginning to think that that the router is not fully compatible with the handset.
