Ever since my recent upgrade to OS6 my blackberry - i have to wait for it to catch up with itself - the little clock in the centre of the screen displays and I cant do ANYTHING till it is ready? I have dumped apps but this does not seem to help. it is very frustrating - can i go back to my old OS

Yes, you can go back. Unless OS6 gives you something you need, or you really want to make it work for you, I would go back.

The 9700 wasn't made for OS 6. It doesn't have quite the memory and horsepower to run it efficiently. I agree with the above to go back to OS 5. It will run much better.

And please update your profile to indicate the BB Model number, not the nickname. There are several "Bold" devices, starting with the 9000. It helps to know if and when you have trouble.

How do I "go back"?

The easiest way may be with Desktop Manager. Click to upgrade the device software. If you are running the OS6 released by your carrier, Desktop Manager will tell you that you are running the latest version. Click other versions, or whatever, to show other options. Select OS 5 and proceed.

If you aren't running your carrier's latest OS6, then you won't get the message that you are running the latest device software, but the idea will be the same...look for the button or link or whatever to display other options, and then select OS5.

Or, you could wipe the device with JL_CMDER (see blackberryfaq.com) and then load the latest OS5 for the 9700 using the guide in the sticky thread near the top of the 9700 forum.
