Default BB Torch - 9800 - Icons darker

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,

My Torch's icons have gone darker on the main screen. I have fiddled with the backlight and don't believe it to be the issue at the rest of the screen is showing fine and I see differences between the backlight settings.

It's only the icons in when the tray is open on the torch. Any suggestions?

First try a battery pull. The next to try is varifying options are set correct ( see below)
If that does not work and the BB is new, try to compair it to another one in a carriers store. If new get it replaced if not, it may just be something you have to live with.

Set options for backlighting
1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
2. Click Display > Screen Display.
3. Do any of the following:
To change the brightness of the backlight for the screen, change the Backlight Brightness field.
To change the length of time that the backlight stays on when you are not touching your BlackBerry® device, change
the Backlight Timeout field.
To stop the backlight from adjusting to lighting conditions, clear the Automatically Dim Backlight check box.
4. Press the BB key > Save.

When you do not use your BlackBerry® device for a period of time, the screen turns off to conserve battery power. You can
change the length of time that the backlight stays on when you are not touching your device.
To turn on the screen, click the trackpad or press a key.

I doubt this is the issue but check anyway.

Use grayscale or reverse contrast for the screen display
1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
2. Click Accessibility.
To use grayscale for the screen display, change the Color Contrast field to Greyscale.
To use reverse contrast for the screen display, change the Color Contrast field to Reverse Contrast.
3. Press the BB key > Save.
