Default Blackberry Will Not Startup

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. Every night like I always do I plug it into the wall charger and go to sleep. When I woke up the following morning the phone appeared to have a drained battery. So I replugged it in. After about a minute with the red indicator light on the phone went to screen with a batter and a cross over top the battery. I have since ordered 2 additional batteries and when using them receive the same outcome. I have tried to update the device from my desktop but I receive an error indicating that I have a dead battery or that the phone has not booted up yet. Since then I have tested the 3 batteries with a multimeter and all three are in working order. I have also tested the negative and positive leads on the phone and they allow current to pass through. I am past my warranty and cannot afford another phone. Are there any suggestions on what else I could do?

Are the new batteries, OEM versions made especially for your device? Or are they knockoffs purchased from a source such as eBay?

Have you tried to see if the new batteries work in another 9700?

1 OEM and one's not. I don't have another 9700 at the time to test out the batteries but when I did have access to one I did exchange batteries for the moment and the same result occurred. The OEM battery that I put in the other BlackBerry worked fine for the 5 mins. it was in there.

Have you dropped the device or has it gotten wet?

Wet, no. Dropped, a couple times within two months of me getting it. Nothing worse than a 3 foot drop to which the device worked perfectly. I got the device in September of 2010 and this happened in December of 2011.
