Problem installing Desktop Manager
Running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
When installing Desktop manager or device software or print to go i get the following msg after usual unpack and choosing usa(eng)> Can anyone tell me whats going on with this....please help

Always restart the computer after installation
Logging Options

i - Status messages
w - Nonfatal warnings
e - All error messages
a - Start up of actions
r - Action-specific records
u - User requests
c - Initial UI parameters
m - Out-of-memory or fatal exit information
o - Out-of-disk-space messages
p - Terminal properties
v - Verbose output
x - Extra debugging information
+ - Append to existing log file
! - Flush each line to the log
* - Log all information, except for v and x options
/log <LogFile>
Equivalent of /l* <LogFile>
Update Options
/update <Update1.msp>[;Update2.msp]
Applies update(s)
/uninstall <PatchCodeGuid>[;Update2.msp] /package <Product.msi | ProductCode>
Remove update(s) for a product
Repair Options
/f[p|e|c|m|s|o|d|a|u|v] <Product.msi | ProductCode>
Repairs a product
p - only if file is missing
o - if file is missing or an older version is installed (default)
e - if file is missing or an equal or older version is installed
d - if file is missing or a different version is installed
c - if file is missing or checksum does not match the calculated value
a - forces all files to be reinstalled
u - all required user-specific registry entries (default)
m - all required computer-specific registry entries (default)
s - all existing shortcuts (default)
v - runs from source and recaches local package

What version of Windows are you using??

It looks like one of 5 things.

1. Windows Installer needs updateing/reinstalling

2. C++ Redistributable needs re-installing :-

3. Update Windows via Windows Update

4. Disable any AV Software while installing the software

5. Redownload the installation files and try again.

Hope this helps. I would have put links to the files that are needed to be downloaded but the forum wont let me.

Hi John thanks for your help with this issue:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
all updates current for windows update
Reinstalled C++ redistibutable
Disabled AV (Microsoft Security Essentials)
Redownloaded the installation files
Could not find how to reinstall windows installer 5.0
It seems that the programs I am having issues with are Blackberry Desktop Manager, Print to Go software and Device Software for my torch 9800
I was able to install Device Manager for my Playbook without issue
Other non Blackberry software seems to install as normal with no issues (tried a few)

still having same issue....tried removing all traces of BB dm from reg...still no help...even reinstalled c++ redistributalbes and all other prerequisites for luck....plz help...all other programs install no problem..just DM, Device software (torch 9800 and playbook), Print to Go software are the issue...HELP PLZ
