I know how to detect water damage on a fone but can one determine how long it has been damaged??
My daughter got her 9900 bold in sept 2011 and by december the battery was not even lasting a day. She took it in for repairs and vodacom replaced it with a replacemtn fone (not new). That fone lasted 3 days and would not swith on. She returned it and they now say it has water damage.

The white sticker on the battery is red , but there is no sticker on the fone itself where the stickers line up.

Does anyone have advice as the contract is still new and now wont have a fone.

Water damage is water damage, no matter when it occurs. Are you trying to support a claim that the phone had water damage before it was used as a replacement device?

Maybe you need to find out if it got wet when in your daughter's use.

Please do not use text speak as it makes your post difficult to read, especially for our non-native English speakers. They might not know what a "fone" is.

And also update your profile to indicate the cell provider that you use. It helps to know when you have a problem.

You do not show your carrier so it's impossible to offer specific advice but it may be wise to check with your daughter because it is doubtful the carrier gave you one with a red tag.
