bold 9700 trackpad just quit for no reason.
Restarted many times battery pull many times.
I was finally able to get connected to the desktop software and did a downgrade to 5.0something and the click part started working.
Thinking the reinstall helped I went back to 6.0something and it stopped again. No click no scroll.
So back to 5 and the click works again.
Oh yeah, replaced the trackpad with a new one and same same.
This lead me to believe it is a software problem since it does have some response in 5.0 but none at all in 6.
I don't get how so many people have this problem and there seems to be no fix that works 100%.
Can any one help?
They make me sign a 2 year contract and give me a $500 phone with a 1 year warranty. I will not buy another phone unless I decide to go contractless next time.
I am using a go phone with my sim card temporally and it sux.

Did you get it wet? drop the phone? an OS upgrade should work ok provided you used the correct version for the 9700. I would try doing a wipe and upgrade to 6 but do not add any third party apps. If the BB works ok then it must be interaction with one of your apps. If you do a restore from a backup do not load anything except the contacts and emails.

Your original post was very hard to read due to the poor spelling, grammar, and lack of punctuation. I didn't read it, but I would guess that you have water damage. Even steam from a shower can damage the trackpad.

So, you couldn't read the part about installing a brand new trackpad either?
Not steam damaged either. I can do without my phone long enough to bath.
