Default Blackberry 9700 can't connect to PC?

I've had my blackberry for a year now and everythings been working fine. Just now, i tried to connect my bb to my pc and my bb charges, but i cant get it to connect to the computer and the bb desktop software. Helpp?

If dubdub's suggestion dont get you anywhere it would help to detail how your connecting and what PC os you have, any error messages? etc.
