Default 9550 won't sync Contacts

Hello!

I have the Storm 2 (9550). I used to be able to sync my contacts, but something changed. I think it was b/c I uninstalled the Facebook app on my phone.

I am using Destop Manager 5.0.1.37. I am not using the latest version b/c I could never get it to recognize my device.

I have multiple e-mail accounts on the phone, but have deleted the CICAL files under service books to keep just one calendar. The calendar syncs just fine.

I have reset configuration, and still no Contacts sync.

When I check the logs, it is as if the Device Software never even tried to sync the contacts.

I would really appreciate any suggestions folks can make to help me fix this problem.

Have you checked the settings in DM to make sure they are correct?

Have you tried a battery pull on the BB?

Have you tried deleting your SYNC service books for each email application? What about the rset command (contacts--blackberry menu key-- options--type "rset"). Both of these will force your device to start a slow sync. The slow sync should find all new contacts and sync them back to your device.

Thank you for this! When I view the service books on my device, I see CMIME books for each address. Where would I find the SYNC service books?

I am trying your second suggestion, regarding the rset command, right now...

Hi, OnlyGODSanExpert!

When I type "rset" in Contacts, it wants to wipe all contacts from my device. Is this the "slow sync" to which you are referring?

Bumping this. I am afraid to wipe my contacts on the phone. If I cannot sync them from my desktop, then I will be stuck with no contacts on the phone. What am I missing here?

I looked up SYNC service books, and found:

"If the [SYNC] service book is not listed, the BlackBerry smartphone is not activated on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server product."

This makes sense as I am not using an Enterprise server Blackberry.
