Can you unlock a Blackberry that is not on a wireless plan? Hello. My old phone is a Blackberry Bold (I have switched to an iPhone for family reasons but miss using the Bold!). I'd like to use this while I'm traveling in Indonesia as I know I can unlock it and get an int'l SIM card. My question is...since the Bold is no longer the phone on my Verizon plan, can I still unlock it, get an Indonesian SIM card and use it as a phone while traveling? Or does it have to be an active phone on my Verizon plan? Thanks so much for your help! |
Re: Can you unlock a Blackberry that is not on a wireless plan? It does not need to be active. You can find more information here How do I unlock my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ |

Re: Can you unlock a Blackberry that is not on a wireless plan? A lot of people do this with BB's just for the same reason. Easy as ZombieBerry said using the FAQ's |
Re: Can you unlock a Blackberry that is not on a wireless plan? Thanks to both of you. Actually, I just called Verizon and they did it all over the phone. They unlocked my Blackberry and they activated the international SIM on my iPhone. I'm all set. Thanks! |
