I dont want to received app notifications constantly can they be turned off anywhere ??

Maybe. Depending on the app, and the kind of alert you mean.
Check the app's options. If there are settings for alerts or noticications, disable there.
Some apps add alert settings for the app to your profiles. Check your profile settings and see. Edit as needed.
And there could be other types of notications, for example text or email.
If you can't figure it out, you'll need to provide more info. What app? What kind of alert or notification?
