9800 Torch updated Desktop Software lost all apps
 
I updated my Desktop Software as I got the prompt that a new version was available. When the update was complete, my phone asked to set-up email again. I had to sync my contacts and I am having to update BBM, Facebook, Blackberry World plus I have none of my applications. I had acquired quite a few applications in the past 3 years I can not afford to repurchase them.
I did have a backup on my desktop from November, I did the back-up but still no apps. HELP!!!!!

Did you back up the third party applications before you did the update?

To be quite honest I do not know I was distracted at the time I was updating, I usually do but something happened and I lost focus on what I was doing. I can see the applications in my world on the computer, it is showing them as uninstalled but it will not let me sync them. I am so frustrated

What do you mean by "it will not let me sync them"? You don't normally "sync" apps.

If you go to BlackBerry App World on the device, do the apps show there when you are logged in with the correct BlackBerry ID?

I figured it out, I just had to go into app world on my phone and reinstall my apps one at a time from there. The only way I knew what apps I use to have was from app world on the computer in my world, it was time consuming but easy. I am now back to normal with a huge lesson learned.

When you go into your world on blackberry world on line if you have uninstalled apps , the message it gives is to SYNC them. I also figured out why that did not work. Some of the apps were from my playbook.
