Default 9360 Contact List: Problem due to Synching with Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

After synching with Outlook, when I now access my Contact list on my device, it now sorts my Contact List only by First Name and not by Last Name unlike before.

Even if I toggle with Options>>Contact Display&Actions>>Sort by First Name/Last Name, this doesn't work. It simply reverses First/Last Name per entry, but it still sorts the entire Contact List by First Name only.

It got this way because I had wanted to consolidate and update my Contact List using my laptop, so I performed a series of synchs as follows:

1) Two-way synch between Device and Outlook

2) After updating entries & deleting old ones using my laptop, One-way synch from Outlook to Device with complete overwrite

Is there a setting in Outlook that I should modify, then synch the data back to my Device?

Incidentally, I did not perform a Backup before doing this, so I can't use the Wipe Handheld and restore the data.

Driving me nuts ... HELP!!

Have you checked to see if the names are in the correct field in Outlook? First in first and last in last.

Update edit,

RIM reports this is something they know about and are working on.

Thanks for the reply, tsac. 2 things:

1) I checked both Outlook and Device; confirmed that First and Last names are entered in correct fields

2) The link you posted is almost similar, except this part: "Even though the contacts are sorted by last name, they appear in 'First Name Last Name' format." In my case, when if I press sort by last name, it appears in 'Last Name First Name' format but still sorts the entire list by first name.
