After several fruitless phone calls to my mobile carrier and RIM support, I'm putting this query out into the world, in hopes that someone can help. Here's the dilemma ...
I've recently upgraded to a BlackBerry Bold 9790.
I have the most recent BlackBerry Desktop software for my Mac laptop, which is running Mac OS X 10.5.8.
Whenever I try to sync the phone with the computer -- using the new USB cable mailed to me -- my laptop will "detect" that the phone is there, launch Desktop Manager, but do nothing else.
I'm unable to sync any information. There's been no error messages given. Desktop Manager will simply indicate it's "connecting" before giving up without notice.
Has anyone else had this problem? Please note:
I've gone through the basic "Troubleshooting" options. Between upgrading software, reinstallation, restarting, checking mass-storage mode -- I'm unsure of what to do next.
The phone appears to connect properly to a friend's PC.
