HI everyone,
please assist me with this issue: BB Bold 5 (9930) is showing activation required and it is not allowing me to setup e-mail account, what can I do?
Is that a specific BlackBerry Data Plan? Or a generic internet plan.
Without a specific BlackBerry Data Plan, you will not be able to set up e-mail. The 9930 is primarily a CDMA BlackBerry.
I sincerely appreciate what I am getting from you NJBlackberry, I have also seen that the BB is a CDMA, now the we want to use another network on it, so the Blackbverry Data Plan of the network we want to use is already running on it and other things are working except that it is showing "Activation Required" even though it can call, send sms, chat but we can not setup the e-mail account.
What that seems to indicate is that you don't have an active BB Data Plan assigned to the phone, but there is an active phone plan. Calling and SMS texting are usually a part of the phone service provider's plan. Email, BBM and all other BB specific apps are what require the specific BB Data plan to work.

www.blackberry.com/integrate from your BB browser. It will reactivate the device on the BlackBerry Wireless Network, and allow you to set up and link any e-mail accounts.
If the above link doesn't work, then you will have to contact MTN.
Cheers,

The Following User Says Thank You to ZombieBerry For This Useful Post:
Let me give further details on this issue, because i have tried all the above suggestions and nothing seems coming up yet.
The BB is 3G, CDMA and WI-FI phone and now Zerizon network is active on it but now the phone has been brought to Nigeria and we want to use it on MTN 3G network, after the normal Blackberyy subscription it still displays "Activation Required" and the Blckberyy subscription does not work - the broswer, the app world and e-mail setup aren't working but I was surprised to see the BBM working.
I'll still appreciate further suggestions and comment on it.
thanx everyone.
