i recently bought a 9860 bb and was very excited about it... it really is cool and i love it! how ever just about 2 weeks after i bought it i noticed it freezing...a few moments later it said insert sim card! my sim was in and working well on another phone! i tried another sim and it still did not recognise it..funny thing when i put in vodacome sim, which i used when i was in another country it recognized it! still does but can not recognize my sim! i connected to my comp and a virus was detected which i wiped and also did a security wipe. i even updated to latest version of blckberry software but still no improvement...am stressed especially that i bought it outside my country(zambia) in dubai and cant take it back!! somebody pliz help!!

Back to the carrier store and have them replace the SIM.
Or have them send you a new SIM.
Based on what you said it does not sound like the BB is the trouble unless your inserting the SIM wrong.

its definitely not my Sim...works well on my curve!!! am so stressed! i tried to update it but still cannot recognise the sim and yet recognises the si for vodaphone!! actually now when i use WiFi to connect to the internet no problem , it only reboots if i try to download something or i connect to another Bluetooth device...otherwise i can take photos play videos etc... its frustrating!! problem i bought it out o the country!! anybody pliz!!!!

Did you buy it new or used?

What did you do to the device just before this happened the first time? Did you drop it or get it wet?

If it is still under warranty and not damaged, have it replaced.
