I use blackberry.net email as secondary for receipt of encrypted crime tips from Crime Stoppers TipSoft tip management and crime analysis software (from call center, web, text or app) and relaying to appropriate law enforcment agencies. I also log on through my BB to a secure site to manage 2-way communications between confidential informants and detectives. This has worked well for the past four years and I've even fielded tips from China, the Philippines, Mexico and while on ships off both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Overall, service has been impressive. I'm on BlackBerry mostly because of ability for seamless interface with Outlook via USB.
The problem: Over the past few weeks I'm receiving a large volume of SPAM emails. They range from xxxxxx ads to fake Citibank, Bank of America, ADP, security certificate messages, etc., many of which are of Russian origin, but all of which ask for personal information and/or contain links which would certainly spell disaster if opened.
In that of few of us cover for law enforcment 24/7/365, it is not pleasant to open an email at midnight to find nothing but a xxxxxx ad.
Is it possible to filter out such SPAM?
