Sorry for the thread I know it's been posted thousands of times but the thing is that I live in Southeast Europe and I'm without a cellphone at the moment. I headed to eBay and found a deal about two Bb curve 8330 for $15, including shipping. I am having a hard time contacting the seller and I think he's doing it on purpouse, I tried messaging him to ask him if the phones will work with other sim cards but he isn't replying. I'm desperate because I wont the auction and I think he's gonna report me. The phones have the verizon sign at the bottom, is it meant that it's 100% sure that those will work for verizon only?
People mentiom something about a CDMA or something like that about this phone that can't be unlocked. What is it and can I unlock the SIM funcionality ONLY? I just want to use it as a phone god dammit :(.... Is there ANY hope for me?

8330s are CDMA only. There is no SIM slot. They will not work on a GSM network.

If all you want is a phone, BlackBerry is not the best choice.

Ohh now I understand what that means. So there's no place for a SIM in that. I get it. I believe these type of phones don't work in my area :/...

At this price anything is the best choice.
The seller finally replied today and he said that he didn't know if it worked internationally and asked me how to check this when he came home. He offered me to wait and he'll find another phone that would work from his listings.
One more question for you guys since I don't live in the US.
If a non CDMA blackberry (one with a SIM slot), works with Spring and Verizon for example, is it called unlocked and will this phone work for other SIMs, even European ones, or the fact that it works with two or more American SIMs doesn't mean that it can work with European ones?
So to make it short I want to know if it works with more than one type of US SIM card it will work with SIM cards over here. Is this thing definite?

Watch the language.

CDMA networks in the US, from whence the 8330 came, do not use SIM cards at all, so no, it's not unlocked, and won't work with a non-CDMA provider. The bottom line is that the 8330 will not work in Europe. Period. If you are dead set on a BlackBerry, look for devices whose model numbers do not end in 30 or 50.
