I can't advise on how to get back to Novell. See what others say on that.
But commonly when sync throws an error on a particular database, it is because of corruption of the database or something the sync app is unprepared to handle, such as an empty record or unsupported characters.
Sometimes the errors can be observed when scanning the records on a computer, such as an empty row. The solution in that case would be to correct the error (delete the empty record, delete the oddball characters, delete or simplify long and complex notes ..) and re-sync.
If the problem is on the BlackBerry, use desktop manager to selectively delete the data base and re-sync computer to BlackBerry.
