Default Blackberry 8520 heating up when not in use

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

My blackberry 8520 battery is heating up though it is not in use. Its chewing away the battery life progressively.
I have already tried closing all the apps.

Anyone had similar experience? Please advise.

Thank you.

Double check and make sure you don't have app(s) running other than the core BlackBerry apps. Some apps don't show in the switch app ribbon. Check the setting for all apps, make sure they are not set to run in the background when closed, and fully exit every one.

Of course the obvious...You are leaving it in the sun, right?

Is the device also running slow, freezing, hanging...?

How does the battery look? Is it showing any damage, swelling, anything that looks not normal? What about the contacts? Clean and and shiny?

If the device is acting funky along with the rapid loss of battery charge, my advice is just go ahead and do an OS reinstall and then test. You could try a security wipe and then test first. Up to you.

Obviously if the battery doesn't look good, physically, then you need a new battery. Also, if the device is working ok other than the short battery life, then try another batter, one that you know is good.

Change the battery bro.
Use the same battery on a different Handset.
