Default Mass Storage mode support

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry Bold 9000 which previously belonged to my employer and was administered via BES. When I left I was told it had been completely reset and removed from the BES but I am unable to change the Mass Storage mode support setting. I have checked elsewhere on this forum but the only answer I could find involved a Blackberry still on BES and the IT department changing a policy. It would be difficult for me to do that as I don't work for them any more. Can I change the policy myself and if so, how do I find it and do that?

If there is still a policy on the device, you can remove it. See Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ.

But are you sure that is the problem? Is there a little lock icon beside the setting? Also, look in security options. You want to be on the screen that shows services, near the bottom. If you see * no services * then there definitely is not a policy. If you see something else, I believe it is possible it could still be a blank policy, but it might also be the IT policy that accidently was not removed. So, if you see something other than no services, go through the removal procedure and then test.

That was definitely the problem. I have continued searching for solutions and found out how to identify whether or not there was a policy (which there was) and also how to remove it, which I have just finished doing. Thanks for your reply, though.
