Hello all of you berry pros!

Well, it happened - my toddler dropped my new 9360 into water. Was submerged for about 30 mins before my husband noticed. He took it out, tried to power it on (I know, I know! He should not have done that!).

Long story short, we dried it out in rice. Put it back together - Now when we plug it into the wall charger, it makes a crackling noise - like a wood burning noise.

It is not the wall charger, because I plugged my husbands berry and it makes no such noise.

I conclude it is my 9630 that is making the crackling noise and not the charger.

The red charging light comes on but I took it off immediately.

Can ANYONE help me out as to what is wrong with the phone? What should I be doing to get it back to normal?

It's probably the speaker shorting out.

The BlackBerry is dead. 100%. I know it's not what you want to hear, but you should plan to replace it. The circuitry is fried, and short of replacing every electronic component, there's nothing to be done for it.

On the bright side, you don't have to reload the OS and backup files.

Take your husbands BB and tell him it's his fault for not removing the battery and putting it in a bag of new rice for 4 days. ( just dont tell him it was Probably dead long before it was found.)
