In the bluetooth Options I can change the device name

If I make a new connection with my car (Peugeot) this name is shown for the connection.

But if I look into the adressbook there is an other name for my phone.

With the same SIM but an other Blackberry the bluetooth device name is displayed.

Is there an other Option?

The BT uses the device id to know which is which. The car is using the basic link management protocol (LMP) to querry the phone. The device will respond with it's ability and id. It then uses the SDP (Service discovery protocol) to discover what the device can do such as end it's address book etc.

The SIM securely stores the service-subscriber key that is used by the BT device to insure it is "talking" to the correct device.

Simple answer.....the SIM card is the culpret. I would ignor it. It works dont fix it

I can hardly believe that the SIM is the problem.

As I wrote, with the same SIM in another blackberry the device name is used in the address bookfor my own phone number.

Maybe it's caused by your carrier "-" but I bet the SIM

It really might be the SIM.

I tested another SIM in my Blackberry and did not get a special address in the address book for my own number.

Maybe there is a special way to personalize the SIM.

Another part in the puzzle.

There is a dialog “SIM-Card” where you can place your phone-number and a name.
The special entry in the display of the car only appears when I place a number in this dialog. But neither the name in this dialog nor the device name is used for this number.
