hi i need help with my blackberry torch 9800 is unlocked and i'm currently using it for T-mobile service everything works,internet,text,phone calls,except email,bb app world,cant set up blackberry ID,also on my service status for BIS it say's im not connected

i cant set up an email account nor access the blackberry website thru the web i'm getting a message when i go to internet mail account saying we apologize, there was an error trying to access the service. please help

Do you have a BB data plan from T-Mo active on your account?

Was this device used on AT&T and did email work then? If so, did you cancel your BIS account with AT&T before trying to set up on T-Mo?

You need an AT&T BlackBerry data plan, and you must also make sure your device was disassociated from your T-Mobile BIS plan. You can call T-Mobile and ask them to make sure the BB is not associated with your old BIS.

I bought this phone of someone on craigslist and he had said that he was using with at&t before, so when I put my sim card in the phone it automaticly read it and it said t-mobile on top with edge on the right corner, so I'm guessing phone was already unlocked after that I called t-mobile changed my plan added the BIS to my services,I've added the services book's and all but I cannot set up email at all nor access the blackberry website everything else works good except making an email account I've tried email set up clicked on internet mail account and gives me an error message on the bis.tombile website ,also tried hot routing table and nothing.

The phone was used on at&t before I'm currently using for t-mobile right now, and yes I do have the blackberry internet services on my account I added the service the same day I purchased phone from a cragslist person.

Does T-Mobile have the 9800 Service Books now?
In the past they didn't.

I don't believe T-Mobile ever sold the 9800 in the US. So they never published the Service Books. I could be wrong. In any event, try the (multiple) steps in this thread - Get Your Unlocked 9800 Torch Working on TMobile with Browser, UMA and DM Tethering - which may help.

You will never get faster than EDGE On it as T-Mobile and AT&T run different 3G/4G frequencies.
