we do have an issue with the BB Desktop Manager since a few days. I've tried to update it to latest release 7.1 and the problem still the same. I've uninstalled it, remove all the files and references in the registry, reinstalled it and I still seeing only squares.

Any clue on how to fix this?

It looks to be a discrepancy between the language of the software and the language of your PC.

Reboot the pc first and see if that does anything.

I did both and didn't worked. I fix it finally by addind the East Asian Support Language. This is totally wierd but it did worked.
