Default Blackberry 8520 issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hello.
I have a blackberry 8520 that I recently upgraded to OS.5 and the problem I wanted to ask is.. HOW COME whenever the backlight turns off, i can no longer press anything in order for it to light up again ASIDE from HOLDING down the "application launch" button for at least 2 seconds? :(

Like, I literally have to hold it down for a few seconds in order for it to light back up again. Before, I can jst press any letter from the keyboard for it to turn up. And it will just light up in an instant.

I'm not sure what's wrong, but I don't really like holding that button just to check my messages :( HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!

Thank you so much if anyone can help me :(

That's not the problem though.

The cellphone screen won't light up UNLESS i HOLD down buttons for 2-5 seconds. Imagine pressing buttons for that long just to check your messages.

I need help :|

ADDITIONAL : I can shut down my cellphone using the "end call" button, BUT i CANNOT open my cellphone using it. I have to take out the battery and put it back in just to start my cellphone. T_T

Did your BlackBerry get dropped or wet (or even damp)?

Yes, i dropped it before. BUT i never experienced such problem UNTIL i updated it last night. Like, literally after it updated its OS, i can no longer make it light up in just a single tap on the keys. ;(
