Voicemail alert & BB 8310

I have a BB 8310 and ATT as the service provider. I want to set up my phone to give alerts when I receive voice messages. I have been searching the internet and found nothing that works.

One web site said to upgrade my Blackberry Desktop software to version 6 or higher. The 8310 model can only use 4.5 or lower. Another said to change it under profiles by selecting voicemail, but it is not an option.

I have spent hour and hours and nothing had worked. If anyone has figures out please help!:?

The voice mail alert is the same as the text message (SMS) alert.

I have set a tone for the SMS but it does not give me an alert for email just SMS

Umm, your original post asked about VOICE MAIL. It didn't say anything about email.

If you want an alert for email, you need to set that separately in the profile as well.
