Default Emails issues with 9320 Curve

I am new to my Blackberry. I have Pay As You Go with Orange.

I can access the Internet well, one reason I wanted a Blackberry plus to send/receive emails. As I say I have Internet access but my email is a different matter.

When I try to set up an email account I go straight to the Enterprise Activation. I entered my hotmail address and that failed and so I entered my orange address and that does not work.

I have tried resetting the phone settings and try again but I still only get the Enterprise Activation screen.

Can someone please help or do I just simply access my Hotmail account?

Any help appreciated!

You need to have a BlackBerry specific data plan service added to your account in order to access email.

A generic internet plan will not work.

Call your service provider and ask them for the proper data plan service for BlackBerry.

Ah, thank you! Just done that. I did not realise that there was a 5 per month charge, especially considering the cost of the phone. I would have thought this would have been activated once a provider was set up.

Yeah, the "cost of the phone" doesn't have anything to do with it.

Since you are choosing to use a service provider that separates BlackBerry Data from generic data, you have to request the specific plan.
