Pls pls help me, am at my WITS end!

My bb is Constantly freezing, ALL the time and the black clock shows in the middle of the phone, have tried a software upgrade it tells me there is none...
WHAT to do?
I have alot of free memory on my bb and also have only four apps on my phone!
Help PLS

How much free memory is "a lot"? Do you store your pictures/ringtones/documents on a memory card?

I have an 8 gig memory card where my music and docs and pics are stored.
It says i have 233 mb free on the phone and 569mb free on the card.
Could that be the prob?

233MB of free internal memory should be plenty. Have you tried a 30-second battery pull? That sorts out a lot of issues. If the current OS version on your device is not operating properly you can upgrade to any version out there. Look at the 9700 forum here for some versions you can try.

I have tried that several times. I have actually gone and done a factory reset and all is perfect now again....Wonder what it could have been? Could i Have picked up a virus of some sort?

There are no known viruses for BlackBerrys. It was like a poorly written application.
