Hello, dear BB-owners.
I have now, for the first time, a Blackberry curve 9360.
Untill now I am quite happy with it. But I have problems with my calendar. I've googled the problem over and over again. But didn't find a plausible solution.
My reminders on the calendar are saved, and everything is set to give an alarm when the reminder needs to give an alarm. But he doesn't give anything, no sound no buzz no nothing..
I've found a maybe-answer to the problem. They told me to erase any servicebook thats named CICAL. I've deleted this, and also searched the bb app world for a calendar patch.
Does anyone know how to help me?
Ow yeah, and also this
OS version 7.1 bundle 1133 v188.8.131.526
Have you tried popping the battery out and then back in?
Have you installed any programs which may be impacting the sound functions?
Jup, battery-pulled that mddfck too many times :-)
Pfff, I'm getting pretty frustrated about it.
And as far as I know, I didn't install anything that may infect the sound..
Installed progs: wikitude, memopad, tasks, calculator, documents to go, files, smart labels, ringtones, voice controled calling, spoken memo's, recorder for spoken memo's, everything, bb protect, gps tool, sha zam and twitter
When did the problem begin? When did you first notice it?
Ehmmm, I've noticed the problem since a week or so. But I think it might started sooner. Dunno actually. I've installed the update to OS7.1 recently. Maybe it's dued to that..
Yesterday, I thought I'd erase the facebook app completely.. This didn't had any effect. Besides the effect it erased my agenda entirely  so now I'm more frustrated.
After that, I've erased every app by the function ' erase all installed apps ' or something like that. So, I'm almost back to factory settings. Except my already taken pictures and received messages, and settings for my dlink router and so.
But no freakin' effect at all.
So I'm patiently waiting for someone to help me... :-)
Oooo maybe this also:
When I just got my bb, I didn't find a calendar app. So i quickly downloaded one from the bb app store. Then I found the real calendar app, so I deleted the other one. But I read lot's of reactions on other people's problem with this, and they all said that two calendars could give an error. You need to set up your calendar as 'main'. But as I already deleted the other calendar I suppose he's set as 'main'.
Maybe I just had to tell you this, just to get you informed. So, this been said, I suppose there could been created a conflict/error while de-installing the previous installed calendar?
With patient regards
Losing my patience.......
How can this be? Like 5 years ago, everybody had this problem, there even was a patch from RIM to fix the problem. And now, nobody knows the answer to my similar problem?
Just bought the fckn phone for his skills in management and calendar stuff, and the shizzle isn't working.
Just did big reset by desktop manager, and restored not all settings.
There must have been some conflict between previously installed apps or stuff.. didn't know the reset and restore ( by desktop software ) was so convenient!
Nice job, RIM! But they had me going though....
That is often the problem, and I would guess the calendar app you installed and then deleted was the issue.
That said, you get nowhere by swearing and demanding answers. We are BB users, but nothing more. No one here works for RIM. None of us get paid, and not everyone has an answer. Please understand that you can't always get a fast answer.
I suppose that was the problem. I just restored my pics, dlink settings, and stuff like that. So I can't tell you for sure that was the problem.
And I do understand that swearing ( was actually meant to RIM/bb except of you guys ) and demanding won't make you guys respond faster. On the contrary. But I was just getting frustrated about the fact that you can read everywhere about the problem, but no one has a solution, or the solutions doesn't work in my case.
Whatever! Cheerz you guys, I'm going home.
