8900 phone while typing a U comes up and phone freezes

Hi

All I have a headache and I am nearly ready to throw my phone at the wall. It does not matter what I am typing, text, email, default reset password a U comes up even if you don't ask for it then the phone freezes. Spent several hours today trying various things but no luck as fault is still there?

any advice would be great as I don't really want to throw it at the wall or hit it with a sledgehammer!!
