Make Wi-Fi primary instead of Mobile Network Hi, so I own a BlackBerry Bold 9000 and everytime I turn on my Wi-Fi (obviously my mobile network is turned on - currently I don't have money on it) it says unable to connect to the internet. But when I turn off the mobile network it doesn't have any problem, I can surf on it. The problem is that I need my mobile network to turned on and I always use Wi-fi too. So I was thinking and the result would b if I make Wi-Fi primary instead of the mobile network, but how can I do that? I appreciate every help. Thanks :bb: |
Re: Make Wi-Fi primary instead of Mobile Network I'm not sure this is a solution, but check the network settings screen in device options. If you are using a BlackBerry and carrier that supports UMA or wifi calling, then you will have an option to specify the preferred network for calls. This may -- and probably only does -- specify priorty for the phone, but I'm not 100% sure it doesn't also control data. Anyway, take a look and if the setting is there, play around with it. Note: You will not see that option if you don't have UMA or wifi calling. Otherwise, I don't know what else you can do but get a BlackBerry data plan. When wifi is on, the device will use wifi instead of the mobile network provided the wifi connection and throughput is sufficient. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile |
