Default Blackberry 9900 mifi issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry 9900 updated to 7.1. When I try to use a Sierra Wireless AC763S mifi it crashes when I connect. Have tried other 9900's and they don't crash the mifi unit. I can use my unit to connect many other routers.
Also have issues with trying to synchronize over wi-fi with SplashID Safe and it crashes the PC software so I would say the issue is with my unit.

Have rebooted/pulled the battery many times. Have rest wifi to defaults. Have run out of ideas. Any suggestions?

The unit is a simple cell service device and as such requires it's own SIM card from the provider. You did not indicate you have seperate cell service for the unit or that if you do, it is unlocked for the carrier you have.
The Sierra site indicates the unit requires an unlock code from the carrier.

I have one with ATT and it does work well.

The mifi unit works well with other computers and a 9900 with 7.0 OS. So it is not the mifi but my Blackberry.

Then make sure you set it up with the correct codes etc. It's a simple WIFI device.
If your sure all is ok then something in the BB OS may be corrupted and causing the issue. A reload of the OS should help. Also do not reload any Apps until your sure it is working. Apps can cause many issues including this one.

Geocacher did you find a solution ..

I have exactly the same issue

I have Mobile Hotspot Sierra 763s from Telus

All my computers and RIM Playbook connects to it perfectly via wifi.

When I try to connect my BB 9900 (BES) it reboots the Sierra 763 and it keeps doing it.

BB 9900 connects fine with other routers and huawei mobile hotspot

Tried all different settings with no luck .. even removed the security from sierra 763s but it reboots as soon as it gets connected to BB 9900

Any solution

Have you tried to delete the device in the WIFI list and reconnect to it? I had to make some changes when i first connected to get off the default on the MIFI.

I checked with another person who has a 9900 and his connects ok.
I guess last resort is to upgrade the BB's OS. I did do an upgrade on the MIFI code available on the Sierra web site.

I deleted all saved networks including mifi network from BB
Battery pull restart

BB OS is latest
Mifi software is latest (In the menu it doesn't show me any update available). Thats the only way to update it.

I guess the only thing left is to delete the OS from BB and reload it.. it would be pain to get it done . save everything and reload everything
