Hello. I currently need help in regards of my BBM.
Have added my friends here in UK but it seems that I can't add anyone from asia?
Tried adding 2 people but still not doing it.
Been trying to call Vodafone to fix it but they're pretty much full of crap and not helping much.
They've put me through blackberry but on the wrong section.
I always have to wait up to an hour to get hold of someone from vodafone and still ends with nothing.

I just don't know how to fix my BBM as I did manage to add people from UK but not from ASIA.

NOTE : those 2 people are pretty much line rental.. meaning, they've got BBM DATA PLAN.

so.. it wonders me why in the world won't it let me add them as I've got BBM DATA PLAN AS WELL..

any help? :(

What do you and the contact observe? Is the contact receiving the invite? Does the invite remain pending? What exactly is happening?

Without more information it is hard to help but it may be a restriction of some type depending on the country. This link offers some information while not directly/only about BBM does show there are restrictions for some data types.

aiharkness : uhm.. i added both of them.. and when they're about to accept it.. which they did.. it keeps showing up as "authentication required" on their side.. and when i look on my bbm.. it doesn't show any notification that they have accepted me or something.. so we really don't know how to sort it out..

and in addition.. we all receive the "pending" sign on bmm after they have added me up.. which we clearly don't know whyyy.. -_-

Do these contacts have a BlackBerry data plan on their line that includes BBM? Are they able to use BBM with other contacts, just not you? I'm also curious if you are able to exchange PIN messages with these contacts.

My suspicion is some kind of restriction, as tsac also suggests, given that you indicate multiple problems that seem to be related to the locations of these contacts. If they have functioning BBM otherwise, then I don't know what else it could be. See what others say.

If you can , provide the country and carrier the others use. It may help and other members may know if there are any restrictions or the carrier even offers a full blackberry plan

Im in UK.. and those 2 person I was trying to add lives in the Philippines..
my carrier is Vodafone.. and those 2 people are both Globe carrier..

hopefully someone can help me.. :(

1. perhaps they no longer have a BB or the proper data plan.

2. they are in an area where use of BBM is restricted.

Dubdub

1st : they both got active BBM data plan
2nd : they both use BBM as much as i do (everyday)
3rd : they both can add my friends here in the UK, but not me
4th : wiped everything, including service books, etc.. still didn't do the trick
5th : called my carrier TONS of times.. they still can't help me..
6th : my other half tried to add my friend who lives here in the UK, but when she tried adding me up, still didn't do the trick..

so.. any more ideas?? -_-

I don't think there is anyone here that can help you. Even if someone knew the problem, I suspect it is an issue with RIM or with one or both carriers that you yourself can't do anything about. My advice is do whatever you can to escalate the problem with your carrier.

Just FYI, I have seen weird things on the T-Mobile support forums, problems one person is having that no one else is having, and none of the usual troubleshooting steps solve. It gets bumped up at T-Mobile and eventually gets fixed somehow on the network side. These are strange problems of the sort you have. Just FYI. Talk to your service provider and have your friend do the same with their carrier, and be polite but firm.
