Default How to i remove this?

Please Login to Remove!

How do I remove the preloaded stuff from my blackberry curve 8520.
They just consume my memory & I don't even like them.
They're locked making me unable to delete them or do anything to them.
Can anyone please suggest me a way to delete them?

You can remove pre-installed apps with Desktop Manager.

@John Clark: Preloaded Stuff.
@dc/dc: not pre-installed apps, but I want to remove preloaded images and ringtones. They're on my phone for no reason just wasting my device memory.

And if they are just icons pointing to an application to be installed, they aren't taking up any space.

You can't remove preloaded images and ringtones.

I really hate them especially the fountain bleau music (maybe its a song).
And also the preloaded .gif pics.
I wish we could delete it.

Perhaps you should send a note to RIM. They make the devices. This is just a volunteer run forum.

You can remove them but you have to do some editing of the .alx files on your computer for the OS installtion package then run loader.exe to remove them from the phone. If you're computer savvy it's not that hard. If you're not, I wouldn't bother with it.

Or the OP could just hide them all! If deleted, they will comeback to haunt you at a later date when the carrier does an auto update.

Absolutely! I've been using Lomogram (based on the Aviary SDK) for photo editing. The new Portico update made the camera pretty much perfect.

I recall that deleting some of the pre-installed stuff, specifically themes, could cause all manner of havoc on your device. I don't know if this is still the case, but removing the pre-installed stuff was perilous.

If you're low on memory there are other things to look at before messing with the relatively small files that are the pre-installed ringtones and images. Memory was more critical on some of the older legacy models that only had an internal 16MB total limit. We're talking about models like the 7230, etc.

I literally wrote the book on that process and while deleting the wrong files can cause problems there many things that could be deleted freeing up plenty of memory....and on much newer devices than the 7230. Look at the number of views on the memory post in my signature. That number didn't get that high by solving a problem on the 7000 series devices.

I don't necessarily think its the best idea for the 8520 but I answered the OP's question honestly.
