(SOLVED) sorry another newb question Hi all got my 8520 sorted ? got a BB data plan, downloaded and updated the BB app world to version 4, tried to download an app, and it asked for my BB id and password, it was telling me to use my email address as my user name, but I know I have not set a password. where would I set the BB id password at? I feel embarrassed to post this but I have looked everywhere and cant seem to find it cheers Don |
Re: sorry another newb question If you have not registered for a BlackBerry ID yet, that is what you need to do first. You should be able to do it from the handset. It's been so long for me I don't remeber, but don't you see something, like register, or signup, or something? The alternative is to register online using a full web browser on a computer. But I know you can do it from the handset. If you did somehow register and for some reason don't realize that you did so, go to the BlackBerry ID and follow the steps for a forgotten password. Re: sorry another newb question thanks aiharkness I defiantly have not signed up. will retrace my steps, I must have skipped something thanks again Don |
Re: sorry another newb question Just FYI, you will use your BlackBerry ID for all BlackBerry apps that utilize it, which will be more and more. For example, BlackBerry Protect. On that subject, if the data on your BlackBerry is important to you, at least do regular backups. Protect is useful because it is set and forget. Install it and set it to do a backup everyday. Re: sorry another newb question Thanks for the information That is a very important thing to mention I always do a full backup immediately after I get a system set up, and regular backups after that whatever the medium (desktop, server, mobile) as it has saved me on more than one occasion, thanks for telling me the program/app to use regards Don |
Re: sorry another newb question Hi all Can I use BIS without an email address (as a user name) as all my email accounts have 20 character "gibberish" passwords that are changed every month and stored with an encrypted password manager to save remembering them. so I do not want to use them in Blackberry as my user name and password. blackberry also gives a warning that I might not be able to access my accounts from anywhere else after they are imported any ideas?
