Default Blackberry 9360 help - desparate

I have just got my daughter this phone - I am a true iphone addict so having to set up a phone again has been hard work for me...lol

Got everything sorted with three and added blackberry services to her contract etc but I cannot get BBM or email to work.

I went to blackberry world downloaded BBM etc - did a restart - BBM says its setting up then does nothing - then goes to just a blue screen. I know her pin but have no idea what I am doing wrong.

Also with email - it starts to set up and then says cannot connect to server every time.

Help please before I lose the will to live

You need a BlackBerry data plan. A generic data plan will not work.

If you are sure that you have a BLACKBERRY data plan, did you buy yhr phone new or used?

You may have a plan that allows basic internet access but not the services included with a full BB data plan.
This link show one possible error you may get.
