How long have you waited? It can take 20 or more minutes sometimes. If you are using a memory card, remove it and see if that makes a difference.

If you have left it for a while and it doesn't boot, I would see if the device will boot in safe mode (search if you don't know how), then do a full backup, and reinstall the OS and restore your data.

If it's not booting in safe mode, your data will be lost.

Follow instructions here to reload the OS: Latest OS 9860 v7.1.0.1997 / 7.1.0.694 Multilanguage

So you also have the problem that the BlackBerry can't stay on for 20 minutes without shutting off or running out of battery? You indicate this issue may be the battery. So, solve that problem first. Try your battery in another device, if possible, to determine if your battery is bad. Or, try another battery in your device that you know is good and that is fully charged.

If the device does not boot up then you won't be able to back it up. Solve the power question and then wipe the device and reinstall the OS. Hopefully you have a prior backup.

Caveat:. If you dropped the device or got it wet (even a little) all bets are off.
