Default I have no COM1 port option.

So I've been trying to reinstall my OS as per the CrackBerry article.

When I got to step 2, I encountered a problem. My apploader doesn't even show COM1. I just get a blank drop down box, and when I plug in my Blackberry, nothing happens.

I'm thinking this problem is with my computer. Should I just try a different one? Or is there a driver or something I can download to fix my USB ports?

You can try restarting your computer with the BlackBerry connected. You might also want to make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Software installed on your pc.
