Default Sim Full Delete SMS messages on 9220

My wife has a Blackberry for work and has received the above message.

I use a Samsung so not too familiar with the Blackberry but have looked around for help and can't find an appropriate answer.

My wife doesn't keep many emails or texts on her phone - literally 10's and frequently clears down.

I checked 'the memory' and appears to be 8mb (think) free but can't find a means of checking sim or managing sim.

Just seems a mess and probably has a simple solution. (I think the manual I looked at was 360 pages and didn't appear to help).

Appreciate any help of pointing in the right direction

You need to look in the manual for the setting to make the device store text messages on the device rather than the SIM card.

Is this an error then?
Should all messages (emails & texts) NOT be stored on the SIM.
As stated only a handful of messages - its a business phone not used for photos , loads of texts etc.

Will try and find in the manual

Somebody might have set the device to store messages on the SIM. There was a time when folks stored all their contacts on their SIM card so when they changed phones all their contacts were there right away, no need to transfer anything. Those were simpler times though. Unfortunately some people still rely on the old ways and it causes trouble because there is so much more data.
