Default Locked out of Email Set Up

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry Torch 9800. My password in Email Set Up is not recognised. I am now locked out of this page for how long? How can I recover this?

Do you have a BlackBerry data plan active on your account? Not some generic carrier tariff for regular phones, but a genuine BlackBerry BiS plan.

If that is all set and confirmed you can attempt a password recovery: https://blackberryid.blackberry.com/...coverpassword/

Failing that, it's time to wipe your device clean and start again. Type in the wrong password 10 times in a row and follow the prompts to begin a complete security wipe. Note that all data will be lost. Your device will be like when you first took it out of the box and powered it on originally.

I'm assuming that the password you need for email setup is the device password just to access the setup, correct?

That's quite correct Rambo47. I can't get past the set up page. I think your first solution is a bit drastic. I am looking for a simple way to recover an acceptable password. Incidentally, when I click the helpful looking "Forgot Password" button I receive a text saying " Your password is." then nothing. Very puzzling

Are you talking about the password to your email account? If you forgot that password, you can retrieve it in whatever manner the provider gives you.

If you're talking the device password, that cannot be recovered by anyone.

Sounded like the email password and generally if the OP can access the email via a PC then the same password should work via the BB.
The OP replied to Rambo47 that he needed the device password to access email setup so unless this is the OP's BB the only options available are,

1 Do a wipe

or

2 Return it to the owner

if it's the OP's Some questions
Can you receive email?
If not then as previously asked, do you have a blackberry data plan on your account?
