Default BB switches from EDGE to GSM at home only. Works fine in office.

Fed-up of dealing with Vodafone customer service on this . Been 3 weeks now - phone switches to GSM automatically as soon as I reach home daily evening. Remains like that till I get out of home next day.
Tried everything: Hard reset, deleted service books and undeleted them. Registered with network again using host routing table, switching to manual network and then making it automatic. Nothing works.
Worst is that network guy from Vodafone came with his tab to check network and said signal strength is good. Even in front of him my phone stubbornly stayed on GSM and yet he would not agree that there's a network problem.
They want to insist that problem is with BB settings. How can it be problem with BB setting if my phone works fine outside home?? Besides I have also run the routine BB fixes mentioned above.
All was working fine until 3 weeks ago - why this sudden problem and how do I fix this??

So, sounds like this is a problem that has sprung up. You had data at home before. Correct?

I agree, it isn't you. Not your BlackBerry.

You could try re-installing the OS. I don't think it will help. But you could do it so that you can tell your carrier that you have done it.

EDIT: Another tip. I don't know your situation. But sometimes with customer service you need to just keep calling them and bugging them until you get a person who is both competent and interested. It's just the way it is.

Thanks for ur reply aiharkness. You are right, my BB data was working fine for all these years. Been 3 weeks since this prob came up. I have called Vodafone dozens of times, to no avail. Today they told me they will send network engineer again, dunno how useful it will be. Last time he came he just took readings n told me they were within range.

a faulty tower can be fun to deal with, we had one here that would make my phone bounce to gsm. took a few days for them to figure it out too
