When entering a pin into BBM it just says Pending, yet my friends do not recieve the invite, nor do I recieve theirs.

I recently decided to use my old Blackberry Bold. I switched my sim card from my iphone into the Bold with no problems. The SIM was originally for an iphone and is part of a family plan with two Androids. The plan does have data on it, but not a Blackberry exclusive data plan.

Do I need a blackberry specific data plan to use BBM?

You can switch from an iPhone data plan to a BlackBerry data plan for the same amount of money, and the carriers are happy to make the switch for you.
