Why are BBM contacts pending?
 

I have a new BB Bold 9780 in UK. Tried adding all my contacts via PIN that I had from my Curve 8900, 6 contacts still say pending. I've retried over & over, as has the other person but to no avail. Any suggestions what I can do?

Do you have an ACTIVE BlackBerry Data Plan for the device?

Yes I have a data plan.
I have been able to add 22 contacts..6 others just say 'pending'.

Yeah, I presume so. I have them as contacts on my BB Curve & I'm able to talk to them. I've even deleted them & re-added them to the Curve - successfully - they just won't add on my Bold. Getting rid of my Curve today so, I need to get them added.

How are you adding them? By PIN or by email?

Try the other way and see if it works.

Try having them add you instead of you adding them.

What else have you done to troubleshoot this?

the 6 six pending contacts may not have accepted your friend request!!!

can anyone tell me please ,how can I tell if a bbm contact has deleted me? Do they still appear on my bbm?

Once they accept they will automatically be added to your contact list. Sometimes folks change devices so you might have an old PIN for them and they would not have gotten your invite. Email them and try having them add you. Or they can confirm their PIN via email to you.

That's exactly my problem right now - the wifey changed phones after I sent the BBM request but before she approved or declined it. Now I've got a "pending" BBM request hanging out there that I can't delete from my phone. Short of reactivating the old phone for the 30 seconds it would take to accept/decline the request, how can I get rid of the "pending" request?

Disregard the above...my stupid self is still adjusting to the touchscreen and didn't realize I had more menu options available to me. If I scroll up, I have the option to "delete contact", which solved the problem.
