Default AT&T BB Plan Question

If I just choose a BB data plan, without a voice plan, would I be able to make phone calls charged at whatever their going rate is per minute?

Welcome to the forums.

Yes, you would most likely be able to make phone calls - probably around $0.40/min. If you even think you will be making any calls, it might be worth getting the smallest plan available.

I really don`t talk on the phone right now. As a matter of fact, I`m using a Tracfone, I average around 30 minutes a month on phone calls. I like the BB to get my e-mails and surf the web. I`ll be contacting AT&T tomorrow to make sure of this as I already ordered an 8310 with the BB Personal Plan (@ $34.99 per month).

Hey, Does the APN settings for the AT&T still work or do I have to buy the BB plan? I am not a business user I am just a prosumer. I read the sticky post. I wanted to know if that hack still works on the new ATT network.
