Default Event ID 15000

Please Login to Remove!

hello,

i am getting the following error in the MDS logs

<ERROR>:<LAYER = SCM, EVENT = For input string: "\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\MDSLogs">

and it is logging to the windows application log with a eventid 15000 logged by BlackBerry Mobile Data service.

it keeps appearing every 10 minutes.

it is creating the log folders in the path specified and is writing data to it.

i have recycled the services and this does not clear the issue.

i am running BES 4.0.7 on windows 2000 with a SQL backend, BES is running with Exchange 2003.

is it anything to do with changing the backslash to a forward slash for the directory path?

any help? thanks.

Default

The source of the issue appears to be the 'UDP' and 'TCP' log settings on the 'Logs' tab in the MDS Properties. The location specified in 'UDP' and 'TCP' are a format that is unexpected by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. While the 'File' tab expects a file path like 'D:\MDS', the 'TCP' and 'UDP' location fields expect values like the following:

UDP:

Specify the BlackBerry Enterprise Server SNMP agent to which the Mobile Data Service connects to send a UDP log message

Type the port used to connect to the SNMP agent, in the following format: <hostname:port>.

TCP:

Specify the location to which the Mobile Data Service connects to send the TCP log message.

Type the location the Mobile Data Service connects to send the log message, in the following format: <hostname:port>

The 'UDP' and 'TCP' location fields are not required to capture UDP and TCP log entries on the Mobile Data Service. UDP and TCP log level details are specified by the check boxes that appear on the Mobile Data Service properties and are recorded in the MDAT file. The 'UDP' and 'TCP' location fields are used to specify the location of the 'hostname:port' if you want to log using the UDP or TCP protocols.
