Default Moving from Hosted BES to Corp. BES

Please Login to Remove!

My company finally opened up the purse strings and bought BES. Up until now we have been forwarding email via Exchange to the smattering of BlackBerry users we have. A few of those BlackBerry users have subscribed to hosted BES services. Are there any tips or tricks to moving those users from the hosted BES to our Corp. BES? Do they have to wipe the handsets at all? Should they discontinue their accounts with the hosted services prior to migrating them to the Corp BES? Any thoughts and/or help would be greatly appreciated.

All you have to do is add the BlackBerry to the Coporate BES. You should disable the hosted BES account so the hosted server stop trying to send the BlackBerry messages.

Best thing to do is make sure that you have been removed from the old BES, then delete all Desktop[bookname] service books found in Options -> Service Book and then run the EA (Options -> Enterprise Activation) with the information supplied by your IT.

That way the old BES won't try and overwrite the new BES info.

Thank you both very much. I had to wipe the handheld, but other than that it worked without any problems. Thanks again.
