Wink Using email instead of SMS

Please Login to Remove!

My carrier (US Cellular) does not give unlimited texting (SMS) and MMS with the BB plan. I see no reason to text when I can send email to a phone for no cost. The problem is knowing the email address. I would like to suggest that folks with different carriers share the template for their email address on the phone. I know a few per below:

US CELLULAR
[email address] (for text)
[email address] (for MMS)

AT&T
[email address]
[email address]

I would like to know the template for Verizon, Tmobile and Alltel.

Thanks.
John

I apologize for this post, I see the info in the red messages above.
However it would help to get the templates for MMS messages too.

John

Handy list. Another great and free service that doesn't require knowing the carrier is Teleflip. Check it out at https://www.teleflip.com/.

I take no credit for this list as I obtained it from AppScout - The Best and Worst New Software, Sites and Web Applications - Reviews, News and Opinions

I don't think those are all up to date. ATT for example is now [email address]
What would you google to get the mms addresses? That's primarily what is missing from this list.

Default Typing a FULL email to someone as a text message

keep in mind...if you want to type an email to someone, but have it pop up on their phone as a text message...you will need to write it to their MMS phone address. for verizon, for example, if you type an entire email out and send it, anything after 160 characters will be cut off (no, it does not turn the email into an EMS). you will need to send it to their verizon MMS address which is [email address] or @vzpix.com or something like that. i forget. then it will turn your email into a MMS and you can fit up to about 320KB in the email. i doubt you would sent a plain text email more than 320KB worth.

just a suggestion...
