Just received the message below... Anyone have any ideas on things we could try?

-----------------

Jadey, I am here in Sau Paulo, Brazil and am having terrible service. I have 6 bars with a carrier identified as "724-10" on my screen and when I go to search for networks it is the only one which comes up. It lets me receive text and occasionally make international voice calls out but no one has been able to call in from the states to my number 937 xxx xxxx. Strangely, they can text me from the states but my replies or original texts may or may not go. I can send and receive e-mail very well. Supposedly T Mobile is quite prominent here but my service is terrible. Is there something I need to do with the phone. I have done all the trouble shoots like take chip and battery out and reinstall. Help!

We had some problems like that with T-Mo Brasil with 7100t and 8700g handhelds, and the lastest (at the time) OS 4.1 fixed what appeared to be the observed radio problems. According to T-Mo Brasil, we generally recommend the latest firmware, so this may be a well documented and/or known isssue. Any idea what handheld model and handheld OS this particular user may have?

Aaaahhhh.....

It's a 7100 running 4.0.2.49

(In my defence, we bought an 8800 for the user, and he refused it, saying he likes his 7100. I guess I'd better upgrade it next time I see him!!)

Thanks Aroc
