Default Suggestion for phone and plan?

Please Login to Remove!

Situation: Out from under my verizon plan (regular cell phone) and am looking for a Blackberry or other web enabled phone.

Background: Will be traveling year round for work. Tethering to laptop essential, features of Blackberry are a nicety. Would prefer fast connection, have little patience for dial-up

Assessment: Verizon is quite expensive, but seems to be the preferred network of the BlackBerry forum, and I like their coverage. TMobile is cheapest, unsure of their coverage. Alltel seems middle of the road

Recommendation?????????

Recommendation: Get the carrier that has the best coverage where you live, work and travel. You will be quite unhappy if you have anything less than decent coverage.

I would not say Verizon is the choice of carriers here, by any means. They are popular, but so are AT&T and Tmo and Sprint, in the US, around this forum.

Welcome to the forums!

Sprint has a very nice BlackBerry data plan (for BIS users - those not connected to a company BB server) for $30/mo. It includes unlimited data/email/internet, unlimited text, Phone as Modem, Sprint GPS Navigation, Sprint TV, and Sprint Radio. You'd just need to add a voice plan to that.

They also have an 'everything' plan for $99 that has most of the above, but also unlimited voice. This plan does not include Phone as Modem - that is an extra $15/mo with this plan.

I could be anywhere coast to coast. Is there a model or service that provides a faster connection?

Sprint and Verizon (CDMA) will have a faster connection than AT&T or T-Mobile (GSM).
